My Yearly Post
We are a family of six now. Two more abandoned kitties joined the club this year. I feel like they're taking over the house most of the time. But tonight as two of them curled up in my lap to doze in their cat-like way, I was very thankful for the cuddly company! They're my babies until I get real ones, and even then, they'll be close seconds...
Til next time...

I'm Back with 4 New Posts, O Ye My Faithful Friends!
The Newest Addition to Our Family
Happy Belated Birthday, Grandma!!
An untraditional birthday cake, but one of our fave's - CHEESECAKE (with 4 different kinds)! It doesn't get any better than that, folks!
Thanksgiving at Jenn and Paul's in PA
This is Jeremy and I with Jared, his older brother and Jared's new wife Missy. (This is also after a full day of Black Friday shopping - yes, Jeremy got up with me at 3:30 in the morning to go hit the stores and get GREAT deals!!!)
Isn't she cute? She takes after her uncle! :-) Hopefully our kids are as cute as Katrin is!

Someone Else Is 30! (and all the 30-year-olds say "Woohoo!")
A Picnic Almost Gone Bad
Fortunately, Jeremy had a good friend named Steve, who decided to be a good citizen and climb the mean tree (who had captured the toy) so his friend would be happy again. Steve's girl watched anxiously as her sweetheart fetched the dangling toy.
Much to the relief of all Steve's friends, he safely made it up the tree and back down again.
Jeremy gave his good friend a high-five for his chivalrous bravery.
Jeremy was once again a happy boy, now that he had his toy back, along with the still-admiring devotion of his girl.

Too Bad It's Not Still Saturday
Jeremy and I found a nice oak table with 6 chairs on craigslist.com for a very reasonable price - yeah!! We were happy to have the family check it out :-) No, it didn't stay in the living room. Yes, the old table is in the living room now...
We celebrated Jeremy's 24th birthday! One year closer to 30!! Woohoo! *Notice the mixture of old chairs/new chairs. Nice, don't ya think?
We celebrated the marriage of Jeremy's brother Jared to Missy Smith. She is a super sweet girl! Welcome to the family, Missy!!
Hopefully it won't be a month before I blog next. Let me tell you, it's definitely not worth the flack you get when you wait that long! Until next time.....

Since Last Time....
3. I officially began my new job as Music Division Office Manager at GBS! After two weeks of training (which was so invaluable, I can't imagine what this past week would have been like without it) and a week on my own under my belt, I now look New Student Orientation week and registration in the face and say, "Let me at 'em!" Well, ok, not exactly... It's more like I'm getting ready to suck in my breath and take the plunge.
Adriona makes sure her first bite is going to be worth all the effort!

We had a water balloon toss for the kids, a cornhole tournament (Jeremy and I didn't do so well this year in spite of all our concentration and crazy body contortions) and a game of softball that will make me unable to get out of bed in the morning. I might as well set a bottle of Advil and a glass of water by my bed right now..... All in all it was a very pleasant day that I think everyone enjoyed!!
Melissa and Ruthanne
Abigail and Isabelle
Colin
Donald and Susan (kidless for the day and enjoying it!)
My mom trying her hand at cornhole
Had a couple of wet casualties... When you're 3 years old, sometimes it's hard to get over the fact that a balloon has been so mean as to break on you!
Jeremy and I played Roy and Helen, who I was told practiced last night just for today's tournament! It paid off - they creamed us!
Don't ask... I had no idea I looked so ridiculous following a toss! If we'd won, I'd have said it was all in the kicked backed leg. Really, I'm trying to be a flamingo.
The object of the game, or so it would seem
Check out the focus and concentration! Too bad it's not like that when I'm trying to tell him something!
