A Picnic Almost Gone Bad

Once upon a time, a silly boy named Jeremy got his toy stuck up in the tree. He had thrown it over his shoulder (trying to impress his girl), and now he was very sad. (Can you find the hidden toy?)

Fortunately, Jeremy had a good friend named Steve, who decided to be a good citizen and climb the mean tree (who had captured the toy) so his friend would be happy again. Steve's girl watched anxiously as her sweetheart fetched the dangling toy.

Much to the relief of all Steve's friends, he safely made it up the tree and back down again.

Jeremy gave his good friend a high-five for his chivalrous bravery.

Jeremy was once again a happy boy, now that he had his toy back, along with the still-admiring devotion of his girl.

My two new posts are in the wrong order :-( Like you couldn't tell, huh? I can't figure out how to switch them without deleting them and starting over (thanks, anyway!). Sorry about that.

More Wedding Pictures

Too Bad It's Not Still Saturday

Yes - I did finally get out of my computer chair and get something accomplished the day I blogged last (just don't ask me what since it's been over 4 weeks ago). Obviously I stayed busy because you've been reading the same post for that long (my sincere apologies to my very patient, loving readers!). Here are some pictures to prove I still have a life.

Jeremy and I found a nice oak table with 6 chairs on craigslist.com for a very reasonable price - yeah!! We were happy to have the family check it out :-) No, it didn't stay in the living room. Yes, the old table is in the living room now...

We celebrated Jeremy's 24th birthday! One year closer to 30!! Woohoo! *Notice the mixture of old chairs/new chairs. Nice, don't ya think?

We celebrated the marriage of Jeremy's brother Jared to Missy Smith. She is a super sweet girl! Welcome to the family, Missy!!

Hopefully it won't be a month before I blog next. Let me tell you, it's definitely not worth the flack you get when you wait that long! Until next time.....

It's Saturday

Saturday - ahhhhhh ... my only day to sleep in now that I'm a workin' girl. Dearest Jeremy decides we need to get up and start the day at 9:30 a.m. Yeah, I know that's late for some of you. But in my opinion I had until at least 11:00 if I so desired. So, being the lovely wife that I am, I obey with a small, insignificant complaint. And we actually get something accomplished. Woohoo for me. So, now it's 3:00 p.m. J is off to work (don't feel sorry for him - he makes the most of his days off and the mornings when he doesn't have court!), and I know I should get busy. What have I been doing? Reading blogs and looking to see if anyone loves me and has commented on mine. What tells me I should get busy? 1. The fact that my husband is wearing things he only wears when he has nothing else to wear 2. I am getting to the place where I don't want to walk across my kitchen floor without socks 3. I'd be embarrassed if my mother-in-law came to visit me right now 4. My fridge needs a fill-up or we'll be eating out every night next week (and that's not exactly in the budget). Ok, think I'll get up and get something done. Ready....1, 2, 3 ... Still thinking about it.

Prayer for Baby Kallie

Please pray for Jenn (Jeremy's sister) and Paul's baby girl. She is to have surgery tomorrow morning to correct a problem with her aorta. She is in Children's Hospital and will remain there until Tuesday, if everything goes as planned. This has been especially hard on Katrin, the 2-yr old big sister, who doesn't understand what's going on. Thank you, in advance, for lifting the whole family up to God. We are all thankful that Kallie has done so well this far. The Lord is so gracious to us!

Since Last Time....

1. My beautiful niece Kallie Renee' was born! Jenn and Paul are the proud parents of this darling baby girl, and I'm so happy for them! Jeremy and I make a terrible uncle and aunt - we forgot to take our camera to the hospital. Goes to show how pathetic a blogger I am!

2. Jeremy and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary :-) Jeremy had chosen one of his vacation weeks to include our special day. We traveled to Columbus and spent three days, where we enjoyed COSI, the Ohio State Fair (pictures to follow - hopefully soon!), and the outlet stores. We went to the Creation Museum, which is a very interesting and educational place! And best of all, it was free since we used Bro. Hyatt's passes! ** Drumroll, please.... This is "brag time" on my husband - All on his own, Jeremy went to the bakery that made our wedding cake and ordered a small one for our anniversary. I thought that was the sweetest thing...

3. I officially began my new job as Music Division Office Manager at GBS! After two weeks of training (which was so invaluable, I can't imagine what this past week would have been like without it) and a week on my own under my belt, I now look New Student Orientation week and registration in the face and say, "Let me at 'em!" Well, ok, not exactly... It's more like I'm getting ready to suck in my breath and take the plunge.

4. Our church picnic was today, and it was the perfect day for a picnic, let me tell you!! We had plenty of food, and as you can see from the facial expressions in the picture below, it is a very serious thing to get exactly what you want on your hamburger.

Adriona makes sure her first bite is going to be worth all the effort!

We had a water balloon toss for the kids, a cornhole tournament (Jeremy and I didn't do so well this year in spite of all our concentration and crazy body contortions) and a game of softball that will make me unable to get out of bed in the morning. I might as well set a bottle of Advil and a glass of water by my bed right now..... All in all it was a very pleasant day that I think everyone enjoyed!!

Had a couple of wet casualties... When you're 3 years old, sometimes it's hard to get over the fact that a balloon has been so mean as to break on you!

Think these girls can stretch this balloon any farther so they get away with not having to actually toss it and increase the chances of getting drenched?

Faithful cheering section

Jeremy and I played Roy and Helen, who I was told practiced last night just for today's tournament! It paid off - they creamed us!

Joel - our youngest "tosser"

Tryin' hard - maybe we should just break down and by a set of our own so we can practice!

Don't ask... I had no idea I looked so ridiculous following a toss! If we'd won, I'd have said it was all in the kicked backed leg. Really, I'm trying to be a flamingo.

The object of the game, or so it would seem

Check out the focus and concentration! Too bad it's not like that when I'm trying to tell him something!
